Installation¶
Stable release¶
To install Django lookup extensions, run this command in your terminal:
$ pip install django-lookup-extensions
This is the preferred method to install Django lookup extensions, as it will always install the most recent stable release.
If you don’t have pip installed, this Python installation guide can guide you through the process.
From sources¶
The sources for Django lookup extensions can be downloaded from the Github repo.
You can either clone the public repository:
$ git clone git://github.com/uncovertruth/django-lookup-extensions
Or download the tarball:
$ curl -OL https://github.com/uncovertruth/django-lookup-extensions/tarball/master
Once you have a copy of the source, you can install it with:
$ python setup.py install
Prerequisites¶
Add lookup_extensions
to your INSTALLED_APPS
setting:
INSTALLED_APPS = [
'lookup_extensions',
# ...
]
Change DATABASE
‘s ENGINE
setting:
DATABASES = {
'default': {
'ENGINE': 'lookup_extensions.backends.postgresql',
# ...
},
}
- For PostgreSQL/Redshift:
lookup_extensions.backends.postgresql
- For MySQL:
lookup_extensions.backends.mysql
- SQLite:
lookup_extensions.backends.sqlite3
